does dc have an official card game?

does dc have an official card game?

I love spades! I also play bid whist, tonk, gin, 500, 21 blackjack, solitaire, war, concentration and go fish. (I used to read the bridge column in the Washington Post when I was young but never learned to play.)  However, spades is my favorite.

I'm hosting friends for a game of spades this weekend.  It got me thinking about card-playing in DC and whether the city has an official card game.

What would you say is dc's official card game?  What is your favorite card game?  Where did you play cards?  If you were around in 1968, what card game was most popular?  Do you have photographs of card parties?

Please comment below or share your memories here.
