A few days ago, I was searching for 1968 photos.  I came across a reference to color photos from the March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom. I scrolled through a few images and stopped at the photograph above.  And I recognized a familiar face.  My Uncle Kirk!!!

He's in the lower left frame of the photograph, sitting in a chair.  He's the one with the widow's peak and the furrowed brow.

I showed the photograph to my mom and she agreed that it's him.  She remembers a number of her sisters and brothers going to the march.  She didn't make it because she wasn't feeling well.

Uncle Kirk, Kirkland Davis, passed away a few years ago.  I think about him often.  How wonderful to have found this image of him, to learn something new about him, and to have this personal connection to such a large, historic event.
