workers strike in 1968
Who remembers C&P telephone? It was the phone company for Washington, DC before being renamed and merged into other communications corporations.
In honor of May Day/International Workers Day, I found the above article in the Evening Star, 19 April 1968, p. 6. Part of a nationwide strike, 11,000 telephone workers went on strike for higher wages. According to the article, picket lines took place at C&P headquarters at 930 H Street NW.
