4 jan 1968 & throwback thursday
Through Throwback Thursday (!), I will share images that don't quite fit #OTD, but are too gorgeous and rare not to share. Two Washingtonians shared part of their collection with me Tuesday evening!
Today's Throwback Thursday is a poster from the New Thing's Jazz Workshop series at St. Margaret's Church for the Tuesday 12 December 1967 concert featuring the Time Machine Trio. The poster was designed by Lloyd McNeill (and probably silkscreened by Lou Stovall). enjoy!
Please comment below. Do you remember the Time Machine Trio? What do you think of this aesthetic? Does it remind you of other artists/work from this period? You may comment privately here.

I asked Rusty Hassan where, in addition to the New Thing and St. Margaret's, the posters would have been displayed and seen. Perhaps Discount Books & Records, 1342 Connecticut Ave, NW @Dupont Circle. Do you remember Discount Books & Records?
