21 november 1968 anniversary of bernie boston's flower power photograph

#OTD 21 November 1968 Thirteen months ago today, Bernie Boston took this now iconic photograph at an anti-war protest at the Pentagon. Titled Flower Power and photographed during the “March on the Pentagon,” Boston was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

While Boston knew that he had taken an incredible image, the Washington Star editor did not. As a result, the photograph was buried deep in the paper. It was only after Boston entered the photograph in competitions, that it was recognized.

Your comments are welcome below. Did you, family members or neighbors participate in the “March on the Pentagon”? Did you watch it on tv? Do you remember this photograph? Did you know that Bernie Boston was the photographer? Do you remember seeing it in the Star? You may comment privately here.
