7 december 1968 & bus boycott 4

#OTD 7 December 1968 This photograph of would-be bus riders not getting on the U4 bus toward Lafayette Square was in circulation after the Monday 2 December bus boycott. Co-organized by the Emergency Committee on the Transportation Crisis and the Nash Memorial Methodist Church, residents chose alternate means of transportation to protest fare increases, poor service and a for-profit transportation model.

Your comments are welcome below. Did you, family members or neighbors participate in the boycott? Do you recognize the individuals in the photograph? Do you recognize this street? Did you catch the U4 in 1968? What was it like? You may comment privately here.
