8 march 1968 & throwback thursday: women organizing for excellent housing
#OTD Throwback Thursday Tenants of Arthur Capper Dwellings (5th & K Sts, SE) organize to demand excellent housing. The tenants were part of an international struggle to demand excellent housing and to claim housing as a human right. The housing complex was 10 years old in 1968, the International Year of Human Rights, designated by the United Nations General Assembly.
