#OTD 16 May 1968 Tut Tate, a native Washingtonian, was an active organizer with the Poor People's Campaign (PPC). Prior to moving to DC for PPC and Resurrection City, she was a SNCC member and organizer of voter registration campaigns in Mississippi from 1965-1968. She apparently led a contingent from Mississippi to DC. Ms. Tate worked for AFSCME after the campaign ended.
