#OTD-ish 19 August 1968 Children visited the 2nd floor of the Chevy Chase Library (5625 Connecticut Ave, NW) to check out the latest books. This building of the Chevy Chase Library was new—it was completed in 1967 and dedicated on 21 March 1968. (This was the 4th library building since its opening in 1920.) Designed by white architect Nicholas Saterlee, the building was 24,000 square feet and could house 70,000 volumes.
