#OTD 23 September 1968 Remembering Mary Church Terrell on the 105th anniversary of her birth. She was born in 1863. She died on 24 July 1954. This photograph appeared in the 11 March 1954 issue of Jet—three months before she passed. She was attending the annual Martha Washington Ball in New York.
