Remembering Derek Walcott.

A quick peek in the Evening Star Historical Archive revealed that Walcott and Robert Hayden read and discussed their poetry on 21 October 1968 at the Library of Congress.  The above image appeared in the paper.

I wonder if the Library of Congress has an audio recording of the program.  Listen to the audio recording of his 24 November 1986 reading at the Library of Congress.  Both programs were funded by the Gertrude Clark Whittall Poetry and Literature Fund.

I thank Thomas Sayers Ellis for introducing me to Walcott's work.
