tour: carter g woodson national historic site
The Carter G. Woodson National Historic Site will be open for special tours 21-23 April 2017 during National Park Week. The site, the former home of Carter G Woodson and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, is at 1538 Ninth Street, NW.

More than 20 years ago, I worked @ASALH. I worked with Dr. Bettye Gardner, who has been brilliant and consistent in her work toward amplifying Woodson, his house and ASALH. Gail Hansberry was executive director of the organization then.
I remember going into Woodson's home and helping to box up the many volumes of books that were throughout the house.
I look forward to visiting the site now that it's been renovated.
