12 november 1968 & towards a black university conf @hu begins tomorrow
#OTD 12 November 1968 Professor Acklyn Lynch, Walter Birdsong and dozens of their colleagues worked to prepare for the students, professors, artists and activists that would attend Howard University’s “Towards a Black University Conference” from 13-17 November on the main campus. Lynch was the ideator and faculty coordinator and Birdsong was the coordinator.

Demonstrations, Civil Disturbances and Special Events, 1965, 1968-1978. These are surveillance records. This clipping was attached to a surveillance report. Apparently, a police officer got a copy of the Hilltop and cut out this announcement and affixed it to a surveillance report.
