#OTD 15 September 1968 Fort Dupont Park (1900 Anacostia Dr, SE) was a popular spot for recreation in 1968. The 376-acres site was completed in 1862 and served as a refuge for freedom-seeking individuals escaping slavery. The Fort Dupont Park concert series began in 1972.
