16 september 1968 & michon boston turns 6!

#OTD 16 September 1968 Michon Boston celebrated her 6th birthday party at her home in Brentwood. Michon is wearing two bows in her hair and sitting in the middle in front of the cake between her best friend Brian and her cousin Darlene. They all were excited about the doll cake, which her mother probably purchased from Giant. According to Michon, “It was the same cake her older sister, Taquiena, had gotten for her 5th birthday, nine years earlier. I wanted one very badly.” Her mother is standing in the back on the right and Taquiena (14), is to the left of their mother. Michon attended Logan Elementary School (215 G Street, NE).

This is what Taquiena wrote in her diary today:

“This is my sister’s birthday. This morning Meechie and I saw Blondie and Blue Eyes. I had an English test. Coming home I got a card for my sister. I did my homework and watched the new shows on N.B.C.”
